A Poem About Gallipoli

As part of her work in Enrichment, Amy has written an outstanding poem describing the experiences of our ANZACs at Gallipoli.

Among the soldiers on Gallipoli beach,
Stories were made that our people now teach.

Past the Australians and the Turks,
Sniper men carefully lurk.

Beyond the bodies that have been hurt,
That lay crippled and broken on the blood-stained dirt.

Where both ANZAC’s and Turks proudly fire,
All fighting for their own empire.

Watch out for bullets and bits of metal,
With every soldier hoping this war would settle.

But like it is and has never changed,
That can’t always be arranged.

Up on the valleys and in the hills,
Cleaning up the snipers kills.

Walks the man and his brave donkey,
Who hobbles a bit and’s a little bit wonky.

Saving many soldiers lives,
Who can now come back to their children and wives.

Amazing Nature Collages

Stage 2 have enjoyed a new approach to homework this term, with a range of activities to choose from. Students in 3 Blue Gum have particularly delighted in the opportunity to make a nature collage. The task was to collect a range of natural materials from around your home e.g. leaves, twigs, flowers. Use these to create a nature collage.

Here are some of their wonderful creations
